3rd Company relay race in Magdeburg
On July 7, 2011, the third company relay took place again in Magdeburg’s city park. At summery weather 450 teams with a total of 2250 runners were at the start.

The FAM runners had lots of fun and were all set to win the race. Besides technical designers and apprentices, present in greater numbers, this year runners from the departments of manufacture, processing, quality management and controlling were also well represented. In team score the FAM teams were victorious. In men’s category the team “FAM -Lauffreunde” won third place out of 157 teams and the team “FAM - Fünf Ausdauernde Mäuse” came in fifth out of 50 teams in women’s category.
Coaling plant for Lukoil, RO
FAM has completed the installation and commissioning of a coaling plant for the power company S.C. Lukoil Energy & Gas, Romania. The contract comprises project planning, design, engineering, delivery and commissioning of a primary and a secondary crusher for petcoke processing, all within a short period of time.

Furthermore, FAM’s scope of supplies comprises the complex handling and stockyard equipment, complete with conveyor bridges from wagon unloading to stacking with the help of a tripper car as well as the reclaiming line with a portal scraper and belt conveyor system to the boiler coal bunkers.

In the recent past FAM has not only supplied the complete opencast mining equipment to OAO Mordovcement, but also two crushing plants on crawlers.
However, in the meantime a third mobile FAM crushing plant of type FPB 1320.20 enriches the system for overburden and chalk handling in the reconstructed Wankinskij opencast mine in the Russian Republic of Mordovia.
The mobile crushing plant developed by FAM specifically for this opencast mine has a capacity of 1600 m³/h.

Gearbox inspection with endoscopy
The method of non-destructive testing with the help of an endoscopic camera is increasingly applied to inspect gearing parts.

This visual inspection of gearbox areas that are difficult to reach can be performed without dismantling the drive components. For the service specialist it is a low-cost and time saving method to analyze a system‘s current state. The results can be used to decide about any further measures to be taken.
FAM specialists have applied this method and evaluated the results at gearbox inspections in the scope of an E.ON power plant project.
